John Orlando
John Orlando is CEO and co-founder of Epiq Solutions (https://www.epiqsolutions.com), a product focused engineering company delivering hardware and software technology to enable hundreds of defense/aerospace customers around the world. John has been a maker his whole life, earning his BS in electrical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and his MS in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology. John worked as an engineer for Motorola in Schaumburg, IL for 11 years prior to bootstrapping Epiq with the other two co-founders in 2009.
On the personal side, John has been married to his wife Lindsay since 2003. They have two kids together (Eva-19 and Ben-16). They live in Dundee, IL, a suburb northwest of Chicago.
John has played soccer his whole life and is an avid backpacker (having completed 19 week-long trips all over the US and internationally). He and his wife are in the process of building a small four-stall barn on their property in IL where they will be retiring the horse their daughter Eva started riding when she was 9 years old.
