Glen W. McLaughlin, Ph.D., is a seasoned technology executive, founder, and medical device pioneer with over three decades of experience driving deep-tech organizations from early-stage concepts to global commercial success. Holding a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Dr. McLaughlin pairs rigorous technical expertise with a proven track record of executive leadership. As the founder, long-time CTO, and eventual President of ZONARE, he spearheaded the development of revolutionary software-configurable imaging platforms, managed global P&Ls exceeding $80 million, and successfully steered the company through six funding rounds totaling over $120 million. His corporate leadership spans major multinational roles, including serving as Chief Product Officer and President of Innovation & Development for Mindray, as well as his current roles building next-generation medical technology companies as President / COO of YorLabs.

Beyond his operational achievements, Dr. McLaughlin is a veteran of the venture ecosystem with an exceptional eye for early-stage commercial viability. He has been an active angel investor since 1994, having personally made more than 25 direct investments that have yielded a successful exit rate of greater than 60% via IPOs and mergers. His institutional investment experience is equally deep, having served as a Technology Partner for El Dorado Ventures, a Venture Partner for InCube Ventures, and a Limited Partner with Walden Ventures and JP Morgan Ventures.

A prolific inventor and technical authority, Dr. McLaughlin holds 67 issued U.S. patents and has contributed to more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. He frequently lends his expertise to the broader ecosystem as a board member, advisor to global medical technology startups, and international oversight committee chair.
