 Barry Margerum

Barry Margerum has more than 30 years of executive level business experience in high technology companies. He joined Plantronics in 1994 as Vice President of Marketing and was promoted in 1996 to President and General Manager of the Computer and Mobile Systems Group. In 1997, he left Plantronics to become President and CEO of Euphonix, Inc., a public company in the high-end audio equipment space. In 2000, he re-joined Plantronics on a parttime basis so he could coach his son's sports teams and in 2004 became Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. In 2008, he was named Chief Strategy Officer. As a longterm mindfulness practitioner, Barry introduced Search Inside Yourself (SIY), a mindfulnessbased, emotional intelligence for leaders, to Plantronics in 2012. Prior to joining Plantronics, Barry was CEO of Mitem Corporation, a middleware software company. Previously, he was Vice President of Marketing for GRiD Systems Corporation, a laptop computer manufacturer, where he was on the founding team and held a variety of marketing and sales positions. Barry also worked for Apple, Inc. and IBM Corporation and has served on the boards of both public and private companies. Currently, Barry is founder of HeartRise and helps leaders, knowledge workers, golfers, and any aspiring people to become more mindful and compassionate to achieve better results for themselves and others. He is also a Member of the Investment Committee of Nassau Street Ventures, a venture capital fund for alumni of Princeton that invests in companies with a Princeton connection. Barry holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University, where he Captained the Princeton Wrestling team. He received a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University.
