Khaled AlAshmouny

Khaled AlAshmouny became part of Silicon Engineering Group at Apple in 2013 where he has been leading the design and implementation of multiple Analog and Mixed Signal IPs into multiple generations of Apple SoCs and led design methodologies for quality improvement, power efficiency, and power integrity. Dr. Alashmouny is involved in Safwan Egypt, a family business in Cairo, Egypt and he has been helping, mentoring, and investing in startups in Egypt and Silicon Valley. He founded Egypt Scholars, Inc. in 2012 to help students pursue their dreams of better graduate-level education abroad and leverage the power of applied R&D to solve critical problems. He also co-authored two books on fundamentals of scientific research and graduate studies abroad for Arabic speakers. Dr. Alashmouny has led several multi-disciplinary R&D projects in areas including analog integrated circuits, neural microsystems, intra-brain communication, sleep apnea screening, artificial intelligence and wireless energy harvesting for implantable devices, resulting in 12 publications, an invited journal article, and two patents. He served as a reviewer for the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, and the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. He received B.S and M.S degrees in Systems and Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University. He was recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award from the College of Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and worked on the design of analog front-ends and communication integrated circuits for 3-D neural recording microsystems.
