Bret Banfield
Bret Banfield is an experienced business operator and investor with a 25-year background in Aerospace and Defense. His educational roots are grounded in the Bay Area, with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. His early career was spent designing and fielding new defense technologies, primarily for SIGINT, EW, and communications applications. In 2011, Bret co-founded Spectranetix, a defense startup where he served as General Manager for 12 years, standing up and scaling all aspects of the business. Following the company's acquisition, he transitioned into the VP of Engineering role at the acquiring firm, leading its R&D portfolio and technical execution across all programs. Bret currently serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technology at Terran Orbital, a highvolume satellite manufacturing and space solutions company, where he oversees all engineering and production operations. He has also invested in multiple ventures, both as a founder and as an angel investor in several ground-floor startups.
