Tim McCarthy

Tim McCarthy has dedicated most of his career to financial services and technology applications. Until recently, he was CEO and Chairman of Nikko Asset Management in Tokyo. He also served as the President and COO at Charles Schwab and Co. (where he and the team launched its online brokerage strategy and its OneSource fund platform. Tim also served as CEO at Jardine Fleming Unit Trust in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1995. He founded AdvisorTech in 1998 and served as its Chairman and CEO. Tim was employed at Fidelity from 1987 to 1994, where he launched a multifund platform for banks and independent brokers and served as its Pretsident of Fidelity Investment Advisor Group and National Financial Institutional Services. In his early career, he worked for Merrill Lynch, New York in investment banking and technology and for Chemical Bank in corporate finance. Tim served as the Chairman of Five9, Inc., has been a Director of Alysis Technologies, Director of Oberon Financial Technology and served as the Chairman of Good Morning Securities in South Korea. Tim has authored several books, notably his latest, The Safe Investor. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from UC Davis.
