Alex Kurosawa is a 30-years veteran in private/public business operations and venture fund management. He served as Vice President, Business Development, at Sonics, Inc. and MicroUnity Corp in defining product/market strategies, building sales pipeline, and managing deal closing. At IKOS Systems, Inc. [IKOS], he headed up Asian Operations and doubled sales every year in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Previously, he was engineering/marketing manager at VLSI Technology, Inc.[VLSI], and NEC Corporation , where he was chartered for international strategic partnerships between US and Japanese companies. He was often recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in engineering, sales and marketing. In 2000, he co-founded Start-up101 Ventures Fund as the General Partner, which was organized as a strategic arm for Japanese corporations. He managed all aspects of venture capital operations there. His business domain includes multimedia, communication, Internet, software, materials, semiconductor device, equipments, clean tech and off-grid energy systems. He has been an angel investor since 1990's. His current interest includes im pact investment with emphasis on triple bottom line. He is a co-founder of a Tokyo-based non-profit organization for angel/entrepreneur training, and a 501(c)(3) organization for piano ensemble music education for children and youth.
