Alan Biller and Associates was founded by Mr. Biller in 1982 to provide strategy and investment consulting services to institutional clients. Prior to that he was the Director of Investment Industries at Stanford Research Institute International, where he began a long term relationship as strategy consultant to the New York Stock Exchange and Metropolitan Life. Mr. Biller has been consulting to major employee benefit plans since 1975, and for more than 26 years he has been the fiduciary adviser to (and since 2013 the discretionary CIO for) the largest multi-employer pension plan in the country. He regularly serves as expert witness on fiduciary responsibility, investment policy and portfolio management, and has served as a court appointed trustee. He earned a B.A. as Scholar of the House with distinction, magna cum laude at Yale University, an M.Phil. in the History and Philosophy of Religion at the University of London, a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Columbia University and a MBA in Finance at Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar. Mr. Biller helped found the Peninsula International School and has served as a board member and treasurer for Child Family Health International, a non-profit NGO which sends medical students to work in local health clinics in underserved communities overseas.
