Seven members serve for rotating terms on the Life Science/Biotech Screening Committee. These members represent many of the subdivisions within this industry including Pharmaceuticals & Therapeutics, Medical Device & Instrumentation, Drug Discoveries, Diagnostics and Healthcare Services.

MEMBERS

Band members are generally former or current high tech executives interested in investing their time and money into startups. Eight members serve for rotating twelve-month terms on the Member Selection Committee.

Martin Lefebvre is a private investor living in Silicon Valley. Martin began his career in 1982 as an ASIC designer for Bell-Northern Research (now Nortel Networks). While at BNR, he was responsible for the design of several key components of the DMS SuperNode family of digital switches. In July of 1989, Martin became a professor with the Department of Electronics of Carleton University, in Ottawa. During his five year tenure at Carleton, he supervised a group of fifteen graduate students and research engineers developing computer aided design tools for the physical design of integrated circuits. In 1994, Martin founded Cadabra Design Automation, an EDA company focused on automating the development of design libraries. During his five years as CEO of Cadabra, Martin completed three rounds of venture funding, established a worldwide sales channel and successfully sold to over twenty-five of the top thirty semiconductor companies in the world. Following the acquisition of Cadabra by Numerical Technologies (NASDAQ:NMTC, now part of Synopsys, Inc), Martin served as senior vice president of Numerical with P&L responsibility for the Cadabra business. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Electronics from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
